Nature-based Solutions (NbS) promote coherency among various sectoral policies to secure climate resilient development. In the context of Assam, India, this is key to achieving the goals set out in the State Disaster Risk Reduction Roadmap 2030, Mr Mukta Ram Deka, Project Manager, Assam State Disaster Management Authority, noted in his opening of the Training and Dialogue on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and its Application in the Barak-Meghna River Basin in India. The training was jointly organised by the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, Assam University and IUCN on 12 – 14 March 2024.
